The Andalusian Energy Agency (Agencia Andaluza de la Energía) is a 100% public body fully integrated in the Regional Ministry of Economy, Innovation, Science and Employment and was created by regional law 4/2003 of 23 September in order to develop the policies of the Andalusian Regional Government aimed at optimising, from an energy, economical and environmental point of view, the energy supply of the region.
The Andalusian Energy Agency is also responsible for improving the quality of the energy services in Andalusia, collaborating with the Andalusian Regional Government in the elaboration and implementation of the Andalusian Sustainable Energy Plan 2007-2013.
The Andalusian Energy Agency is currently coordinating the elaboration of the Andalusian Energy Strategy Plan 2014-2020.
The Agency, committed to supporting low carbon policies, including renewable energy sources and energy efficiency, has been working since its creation with different Incentive Schemes for Sustainable Energy Development in Andalusia, financed by Regional Government, National Funds and the European Union, ERDF European Regional Development Fund. The funding scheme offers incentives for new energy saving and efficiency projects and the use of renewable energies, promoting the development of the Andalusian region.
The Agency´s staff counts on experts with more than 20 years of experience in energy projects.
Located in the Science and Technology Park of the Isla de la Cartuja (Seville), the Andalusian Energy Agency has the support of a wide range of experts in the field of energy for implementing its projects, and a large network of collaborators (companies, universities, research centres, public entities) that guarantee both a high technological level and a high reaction capability in all the fields of the energy sector. The Agency has participated in many European projects acting as a regional public authority.
