Instituto Andaluz de Tecnología (IAT, Andalusian Institute of Technology) is a Technological Centre of "Engineering and Innovation Management" established as a non-profit private foundation, recognised as being of public interest.
IAT acts under strictly professional criteria, providing Knowledge Intensive Services (KIS) and developing its own knowledge and technology through R&D activities.
IAT is a key element in the Andalusian Innovation System, collaborating permanently with all the key agents of the Regional Innovation Systems: universities, SMEs, business associations, public bodies, research groups, etc. IAT is a permanent collaborator with the Regional Government in the definition of Regional multi-annual Plans for Innovation and Technology, Industry and Research.
Since its foundation in 1989, IAT has been deeply involved in activities of Innovation promotion among SMEs, sectorial studies, technology assessment, etc. It is the coordinator of the Andalusian Innovation Network (more than 150 Andalusian innovative SMEs) and part of CESEAND (European Enterprise Network) and of the EARTO Network (European Association of Research and Technology Organizations), through FEDIT (Spanish Federation of Innovation and Technology Entities).
