On 28th of November MED-DESIRE will take part to the Workshop PROSOL Industrial: Solar Water Heating for Industrial Processes, which will be held in Tunis during Enersol WSEF 2014, the second edition of the forum-exhibition focused on the most recent technological, commercial, financial, social and regulatory developments in the areas of renewable energy and energy efficiency, gathering the global sustainable energy community. The Forum aims to promote investments, business and employment creation, to endorse technological innovations and transfer of know-how, to strengthen RE and EE industrial sectors and accelerate the adoption of green economy in Tunisia.
The workshop, promoted by The Mediterranean Renewable Energy Centre (MEDREC), in collaboration with the National Agency for Energy Conservation (ANME) and the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP-DTIE), will take place in Tunis on the 28th and 29th November 2014 in order to present the results of two studies about the evaluation of the potential of solar thermal technology in industrial sector in Tunisia and the proposal of a new support scheme for the deployment of the market. A demonstration project for the large scale application of solar thermal technologies in industrial processes, developed with the financial support of the Italian Ministry for the Environment, Land and Sea and Benetton Group will be presented as well.
The initiative, involving local and international stakeholders, will address technology state of the art, market stimulus instruments and cooperation efforts, in particular:
Session I of the workshop will be dedicated to the presentation of the results of the studies and will be focused on the distributed solar and energy efficiency promotion in Tunisia.
Session II will be devoted to the latest technological development for large scale solar energy integration into the industrial process heat, with a particular focus on the activities carried out with the support of IMELS at Benetton facility for the design of the pilot solar plant.
Session III will be focused on how international cooperation actors in agreement with the ANME and local banks can collaborate in the promotion of distributed solar technologies in Tunisia, in the framework of ENPI CBCMED project "MED DESIRE".
A technical visit during the 29th of November 2014 will cover the two sites: BENETTON pilot project and the installation in Sultan Hotel in Hammamet.
