On November 15th 2014, MED-DESIRE project participated in a student orientation event at Saint Joseph University (ESIB). The event was organized by Saints-Coeurs Schools (SSCC) and aimed at informing students of 11th grade about different engineering domains. Once introduced to the roles of the architects and the civil, electrical and mechanical engineers, the students are supposed to use these roles and respective skills in competing on a green project called “Génie du Vert”.
The project this year is about proposing an urban and environmental solution to the Sunday Flee Market at Sin el Fil – Beirut, by engaging design and engineering skill within a green (including green energy) sustainable and ecological frame.
The team of the LCEC/MED-DESIRE project introduced the student to different measures, standards and strategies that help conserving energy, using resources efficiently and benefiting from renewable energy. The team also proposed to help students throughout their project whenever requested or needed.
The event was attended by around 100 students from 12 schools.
