On November 27 MED-DESIRE was presented at the Winter School on EU funds for energy efficiency and renewable energies organized by the Italian Ministry of Environment (MATTM) in Naples at the Federico II University in the framework of the Programme POI Renewable Energies and Energy Saving 2007-2013.
Mr Giuseppe Creanza from ARTI/Puglia Region explained the main objective and expected results of the project, focusing its intervention on the Puglia Region experience in the cross-border cooperation with the MPCs.
The Winter School was addressed to public administrators of the EU Convergence Regions (Sicily, Puglia, Calabria and Campania), but also to researchers and professionals. The goal of this initiative was to raise awareness on the opportunities related to the European strategy “Europe 2020” in order to foster a sustainable development through the financial mechanisms provided by the new 2014-2020 EU Funds programming.
The training course also envisaged practical workshops on the analysis of best practices, as the case if Castel di Sasso City (CE) considered an expert in the use of the EU funds.
