ENPI solar projects meeting in Beirut

Tuesday, 20 May 2014 11:24

The second coordination meeting

On May 13, 2014 a meeting was held at the Chamber of Commerce, Industry & Agriculture of Beirut and Mount Lebanon in Beirut aiming to share updates on activities already implemented and upcoming activities for each of the four ENPI CBC MED projects targeting the solar sector in Lebanon, and to discuss cooperation possibilities between these projects.
The meeting was attended by representatives of SHAAMS, MEDSOLAR, FOSTEr in MED and MED-DESIRE projects. The participants presented the progress of works in each of their respective projects and the upcoming events that may require cooperation with the other projects.

In this context, potential areas of cooperation were identified:
• A brokerage event organized by SHAAMS project may be done in parallel with the Beirut Energy Forum 2014 (September 17-19) where the MED-DESIRE’s next Technical and Scientific Committee and Steering Committee meetings will be held. Further coordination should be foreseen, especially concerning the participation of the other projects in each of these events.
• It is essential to share the final versions of deliverables on similar actions: State of the Art documents, SWOT analysis, etc.
• It is important to use the projects’ websites, newsletters and emails (such as Good-to-Know email from LCEC, or SHAAMS’ social media platform) for the dissemination of information.
• A shared agenda and action plan that contains projects’ main activities and events will be developed to prevent having overlapping activities.

A third coordination meeting will be held during the Beirut Energy Forum 2014.
