From today until 19 November 2015 MED-DESIRE will be in Beirut with the two training sessions “Financial instruments for distributed solar energy technologies” and “Innovative regulatory instruments for local support to distributed solar technology: Solar Ordinances”, organised by the Italian Ministry for the Environment, Land and Sea (IMELS) and Studiare Sviluppo, in collaboration with the The Lebanese Center for Energy Conservation (LCEC).
The course on financial mechanisms is structured into two training days on the 17th and 18th of November. During the first one, LCEC Representatives will introduce MED-DESIRE project and speak about the best practices on RE and EE in Lebanon, in addition the Lebanese energy context, the National Energy Efficiency and National Renewable Energy Action Plans (NEEAP and NREAP) will be presented. Furthermore, MED-DESIRE experts will speak about the issue of climate finance, support mechanisms benchmarking and global figures of renewable energy finance. Whereas, the second day will focus on climate and renewable energy finance and will be more practical working in groups and analysing case studies. The course will end with a round table with banks, firms and municipalities.
On the 19 of November the course on Solar Ordinances will start. LCEC Representatives will speak about the potential role of solar ordinances in Lebanon, then Marco Calderoni, Politecnico di Milano, will introduce to solar thermal technology and speak about the specific rules of lebanese solar thermal ordinance.
