MED-DESIRE at The Green Investment in Monastir - Tunisia

The Business Center of Monastir organized in El Tunisia on November 19th, 2015 a national conference entitled “The Green Investment”. The event was organized within the framework of the sixth edition of The World Green Economy Week.

The event, opened by the governor of Monastir and the president of the municipality of Monastir, have seen the participation of more than one hundred representatives from relevant local public organizations, associations, representatives of civil society as well as private organizations from the banking sector and SEMs.

The national event was structured in two sessions.
During the first one, the MED DESIRE project (presentation, achievements, expected events and results...), the Tunisian energy context and the state of the art of electricity production from renewable energies were presented by Mr Abdelkader Baccouche, MED-DESIRE manager for ANME, as well as presentations about job creation due to the green economy investment and the waste recycling that were presented by respectively representatives from the International Center for Environmental Technologies and the National Waste Management Agency.

In the second Session, national experts and representatives of SMEs and civil society presented their expieriences and expectations about waste recycling projects.
